Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt, vai dzemdību veids – ķeizargrieziens vai dzemdības pa dabīgiem ceļiem, ietekmē mātes pēcdzemdību psiho-emocionālo status un mātes-bērna saiknes izveidošanos. Mātes emocionālais stāvoklis tika novērtēts ar tā saucamo Edinburgas Pēcdzemdību Depresijas Skalu (EPDS). Skala tika iekļauta pētījumā izmantotā anketā, kuru aizpildīja pētījuma dalībnieces. Ar EPDS nosaka mātes risku uz pēcdzemdību depresijas attīstību, kur iegūto punktu skaitu interpretē sekojoši: 0-9 punkti nozīmē zemu, 9-13 vidējo un >13 punktiem augstu risku uz pēcdzemdību depresijas attīstību. Abstract Depression is the most prevalent mood disorder and a leading cause of disability worldwide. Automated video-based analyses may afford objective measures to support clinical judgments. In the present paper, categorical depression assessment is addressed by proposing a novel variant of the Motion History Image (MHI) which considers Gabor-inhibited filtered data instead of the original image. Aims: To assess if individuals with diabetes or prediabetes report more pain or have increased use of pain medication compared to normoglycaemic individuals. Methods: Using cross-sectional data, we studied 928 men and 1075 women from the Helsinki Birth Cohort Study in 2001-2004 at a mean age of 61.5 years. Aim: To characterize episodic breathlessness (EB) in patients with advanced cancer, and to determine factors influencing its clinical appearance. Methods: A consecutive sample of advanced cancer patients admitted to an acute palliative care unit was surveyed. Continuous dyspnea and EB were measured by a numerical scale. The use of drugs used for continuous dyspnea and EB was recorded. Patients were asked about the characteristics of EB (frequency, intensity, duration and triggers). Eiropā saslimstība ar depresiju sastāda lielu daļu no psihiskajām saslimšanām. No SPKC informācijas, no visiem bērniem un jauniešiem Latvijā ar depresiju un saistītajām saslimšanām slimo tikai 0,2%, bet visā pasaulē šie procenti svārstās apmēram no četriem līdz astoņiem procentiem. Šādi dati liecina par to, ka Latvijā varētu būt nepilnvērtīgi dati par bērnu un jauniešu saslimstību ar depresiju. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) exposure in the treatment of claustrophobic fear. We evaluated the intervention following a controlled, multiple-baseline design across 4 participants with claustrophobic fear who sought psychological help in our anxiety disorders clinic. The treatment consisted of 8 individual VR graded exposure sessions.
